One-on-One Rowing Coaching for CrossFit Athletes
Group courses work for general skill building. Private coaching is for athletes who have a specific problem and want it addressed directly, without working through material that does not apply to them.
How sessions work
Each session is 60 minutes over video call. You share your screen or phone camera so we can review your erg footage together in real time. Before the first session, you complete a short intake form covering your training history, current split times, and what you are actually trying to fix.
Some athletes come in with a clear mechanical issue — a broken catch, a hitch in the drive, a grip problem. Others come in knowing their row is slowing down their WOD times but not knowing exactly why. Both are fine starting points.
What private coaching is well suited for
- Athletes preparing for a specific competition who need targeted rowing improvements in a short window
- Athletes returning from injury who need to modify their stroke mechanics
- Coaches who want to improve how they teach rowing to their own athletes
- Athletes whose gym has limited rower access and need a plan that works with irregular training schedules
Between sessions, you receive a written summary of what was covered and specific drills or targets to work on before the next session. Sessions can be booked weekly or fortnightly depending on your schedule.
Progress is usually visible within two or three sessions when the athlete is consistent with the between-session work. Coaching observation
Programme Breakdown
Session Format
-
Session 1 — Intake and Assessment
Review of your footage, identification of the two or three highest-priority issues, and a written action plan.
-
Sessions 2 to 4 — Focused Work
Each session targets one specific area. Drills are assigned and reviewed at the start of the following session.
-
Session 5 — Progress Review
Comparison footage, updated targets, and a plan for continuing independently or booking further sessions.
Sessions booked individually or as a block of five at a reduced rate.
Practical Sessions
Each session focuses on measurable output — stroke rate, split time, and consistency under fatigue. Participants track progress using on-screen monitors.
Corrections happen in real time, not at the end of a set.
Assessment & Benchmarking
Timed 500m and 2,000m intervals establish a personal baseline. Data from these tests informs pacing strategy for the remainder of the programme.
Results are recorded and revisited at the midpoint and close of the workshop.
